Description
The Cancer Genome Atlas is a NIH-funded project to catalog genetic mutations
responsible for cancer. The data shown here is RNA-seq expression data produced by the consortium.
For each tumor type, differential gene expression values were averaged over all samples and are expressed as colors ranging from a blue (lowest), to black (no expression change), to red (highest difference). You can mouse over tracks to see the complete description of the tumor type.
Averaging might be misleading or remove important information. To see all values of the dataset and all associated clinical data, in context of copy number variations and mutation information, please use the UCSC Cancer Genome Browser.
For questions or feedback on the data, please contact the National Cancer Institute Center for Bioinformatics at ncicbiit@mail.nih.gov. For questions and feedback on the Pan Can expression dataset, please contact the UCSC Cancer Browser
Methods
TCGA expression data was downloaded from the UCSC Cancer Genome Browser, using the "Download" button. Data was sorted by cancer type, averaged over all samples and assigned a color. Conversion and formatting by Maximilian Haeussler.
